On the 21st November 2014, China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation held an Award Presenting Ceremony of the Technical Progress Award of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation in the Great Hall of the People, where thecompany’s research of green synthesis and industrialization of the pesticide key intermediate N-(3-pentyl)-3, 4-dimethylaniline won the 1st Prize of the Technical Progress Award of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.

N-(3-pentyl)-3, 4-dimethylaniline is the key intermediate for the high-efficient, broadspectrum and low-toxic herbicide pendimethalin. The herbicide is world’s largest tonnage selective herbicide, which is widely used for weed control in field crops, such as paddy rice, maize, potato, soybean, peanut, cotton and tobacco.
